The zones beneath the DSCC which have been assigned as 'Red Zones' are Jatrabari, Demra, Mugda, Gendaria, Dhanmondi, Jhigatola, Lalbagh, Azimpur, Basabo, Shantinagar, Paltan, Kalabagan, Ramna, Sutrapur, Malibagh, Kotwali, Tikatuli, Mitford, Shahjahanpur, Wari, Khilgaon, Paribagh, Kadamtali, Sideshwari, Luxmibazar, Elephant Street and Segunbagicha.
